The water leakage problem is usally caused by one of the electrical wires supplying the iron has broken or burned in two. The white terminal block can be replaced or it may be still serviceable. Just cut and skin the wire and reinsert the fresh wire into the terminal and tighten. For best results do both the black and white wire.

I have had this steam iron since 1984, when I bought it because the school I was going to used them. It worked with out repair until 2007. I purchased a new pump because I couldn't find a repair man to fix it.
Now in 2009, the iron is having problems, leaking water which I think is just a thermostate, but again finding a repair place here is impossible. I tried to send it out, but I now have the same problem and it has only been 9 months.
I paid 475 for this iron 23 years ago so I think I have got my money worth.
It is true that it will keep steaming as long as you have water. I used a large 5 gallon bottle from a drinking water vendor. You can buy the big bottle from the grocery store and fill it with distilled water. It will last a few weeks with constant pressing. I leave this iron on all day while I am sewing.
If you are tried of home sewing irons and don't want to spend the money on filters for gravity feed irons then this is for you. I figure it would only be a few years before the savings on filters paid for the system. I love this iron.
